Commuters in Thetford were given a shock after a police escort drove through their town.

John Crichton was travelling down Mundford Road towards a roundabout when he, and other traffic, was stopped by police to allow three black vehicles through.

Mr Crichton posted the video on Facebook to try a figure out what the escort was.

He said: “I’m not really sure what it was. Maybe someone famous, I heard somewhere boxing legend Frank Bruno was in Thetford that day.”

Theories range from a member of the royal family to a police training exercise.

This is the second time in two weeks that a police escort has been spotted in the town.
