Norfolk’s police and crime commissioner will visit Thetford as part of his tour of the county to seek the public’s view about who should govern the fire service.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) is currently governed by Norfolk County Council’s Communities Committee.
But under the PCC’s proposal, Lorne Green would become the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) with a pledge to give the NFRS operational and financial independence while ensuring it retains its cultural identity.
Mr Green will be at Thetford Tesco on Friday, July 27 between 1.30pm and 3pm.
He will be available to speak to the public who will be able to express their views by taking part in a survey.
A survey can also be taken online at www.norfolk-pcc.gov.uk People can call the PCC on 01953 424455 or email TellLorne@norfolk.pnn.police.uk
