Performers in Norfolk are perfecting their music and singing skills for a concert as part of CLIC Sargent’s Practice-a-thon fundraising campaign.
Thirty students from East Harling and Diss SingStart and 15 piano and woodwind students are holding a sponsored practice between March 11 and 25, leading to their end-of-term concert at Garboldisham Village Hall on Sunday, March 25 at 2.45pm.
They hope to raise �200 for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people.
The concert, Magic of the Musicals, will include songs performed by members of the SingStart classes and performances on saxophone, piano, flute and clarinet.
Lydia Pearce, director and class leader of SingStart and Freelance Woodwind tutor, said: “We all love singing, dancing and making music. Practice-a-thon is a great way for us to practise our skills, feel great, and raise money for a really important cause.”
Practice-a-thon is a national campaign for young singers, dancers and musicians of all abilities. Schools and youth groups are encouraged to hold sponsored music, dance or singing events to raise money for CLIC Sargent.
