AN English oak tree has been planted in a special ceremony in Norfolk to mark a double celebration.

The event celebrated the production of first English whisky in over 130 years, by English Whisky Co in Roudham, as well as the launch of Anglia in Bloom 2010.

James Nelstrop, the founder English Whisky Co, where the tree was planted, was joined by Bob Ollier, chairman of Anglia in Bloom and George Dawson, chair of the judges of Anglia in Bloom, for the planting.

Mr Nelstrop said: β€œIt has been very worthwhile to add an English oak tree and mark the first English whisky to be produced in 130 years, which will provide much beauty and a great host for wildlife, and to link this with the launch of Anglia in Bloom 2010.”
