Pupils at schools across the region have been visited by the Dogs Trust to ensure they understand how to behave around dogs.
Over the course of a week, Dogs Trust - which has a rehoming centre in Snetterton - education and community officer for East Anglia Joanna Goodman, spoke to more than 700 children.
Schools in King’s Lynn, Shouldham, Stoke Ferry, Sandringham and Fincham were visited as part of Dog Smart week to teach dog safety where they were issued with advice and techniques if approached by a dog.
Miss Goodman said: “Whilst being around dogs can have so many wonderful benefits for young people, the simple fact is that any dog can bite or snap if they are worried or hurt.
“We can’t teach dogs to understand when and why a child might act in a certain way towards them, but we can teach children how to care for their dogs and behave responsibly around them.”
