A Norfolk spirits producer has named an award-winning chef from the county as its first brand ambassador.

The English Whisky Company is teaming up with Richard Bainbridge, owner of Benedicts restaurant in Norwich, to spread the word about the Roudham-based distiller.

Owner of the Future50 firm Andrew Nelstrop said: 'It's great to have Richard working with us – I'm really impressed by his passion for our whiskies and the understanding he has for the nose and taste of our bottlings.'

Whisky aficionado Mr Bainbridge said: 'I'm really looking forward to telling people about the variety of aromas and the subtleties in taste and finish found across The English whisky range.

'It's also an honour to continue to fly the flag for Norfolk's excellent food and drink producers, and a business that is doing much to raise the county's reputation across the globe.'
