Earlier in the year there were fears the event would not be able to go ahead, but sponsors came through to again put on the night of celebration for the fifth year.

Held at Sprowston Manor on Thursday, the awards demonstrated a wealth of dedication, inspiration and innovation in sector professionals described as “challenging”.

Hazel Evans from Extra Hands, won the Harold Bodmer outstanding achievement award, named after the late former adult social service director of Norfolk County Council.

Mr Bodmer died at the age of 61, after collapsing at a meeting of the county council’s health and social care executive in July 2016.
