A NEW service which gives people the chance to find trustworthy labourers from the comfort of their own home has been launched.

In a bid to stop people being conned by rogue traders, the Evening News has launched Local Quotes 24, a website which provides free quotes for home improvement services.

The website enables people to get three free quotes from fully vetted tradesmen including painters and decorators, gardeners and plumbers.

Ann Lown, general manager of online classifieds at Archant Norfolk, said: “When people want something done on their homes, it takes time to ring around to get quotes and then they don't know what they are getting for the money.

To receive three quotes, people just have to submit one request. Once they have filled in all their details online, they will receive a phone call from a member of staff based at the Norwich headquarters who will check over the information and check for authenticity.

They will then receive their quotes but if they are not happy with them there is no obligation to use them.

For customers who are not comfortable with using the internet, they can click the “request a free call button”, fill in basic information and they will then be called by a member of staff who will take their details and provide them with their quotes.

More than 10,000 vetted tradesmen and companies are registered on the site.

The website is powered by Quotatis, market leader in Europe in the online home improvement quote sector.

Local Quotes 24 is the latest in “24” family, following Homes 24, Jobs 24 and Drive 24.
