Outdoor exercise equipment is to be installed near to a village hall to help boost people’s health and fitness.

Wretham Village Hall committee has been given funding by Breckland Council to install two pieces of adult fitness equipment - an adult exercise bike and a six-way fitness station which helps to build and tone muscle.

The funding also covers a new 1.2m nest swing - but needs to be granted planning permission first by Breckland Council.

A design and access statement for the new equipment said: “The two fitness pieces will cover the four main points of exercise for adults, which are cardiovascular, strength, balance and coordination and flexibility.”

All the items, which complement the existing basketball court, are safe for adults and children to use alike and the swing is also suitable for disabled people.

The current Wretham Village Hall was built in the 1960s and is maintained by a dedicated team of committee members and part-time staff.
