Law firm Kester Cunningham John scooped the business development initiative of the year award at the prestigious Lawnet Awards at Whittlebury Hall Northamptonshire last weekend.

Judges awarded KCJ, which has an office in Thetford, first place because of its strategic vision in recognising business development as key to the future growth of the firm.

The judges highlighted KCJ financial planning, a joint venture with Price Bailey, believed to be the first in East Anglia within the legal sector, to offer a joint approach to clients' need for legal, tax and accountancy advice.

Managing partner Simon Smith paid tribute to the senior management team for their forward thinking approach to growing the business.

“There was and still remains an element of risk in breaking unchartered territory outside our normal area of operations'' he said “This is well deserved recognition from the leading independent network of law firms”.

LawNet is the UK and Ireland's leading network of independent law firms. It provides a range of powerful benefits to its members and their clients.
