Motorists are being warned to avoid a road next to the Castle Mound in Thetford after a tree fell into it.
The branch, from a large tree in Castle Park, has fallen into Castle Lane blocking traffic in both directions.
The Thetford Castle Mound dates back to the 11th century. A castle sat on the hill but was destroyed by Henry II in 1173.
It is the second largest man-made mound in England.
