Paige Harper, 17, from Thetford, was walking to a friend's house down an alleyway off Staniforth Road, near The Charles Burrell Centre, at about 12.30pm on Thursday, August, 15, when she was set upon by two men dressed in black.

The attack, which included several punches from both men, left her with scratches to her stomach, face and a split lip.

The assault only came to an end when a woman walked into the alley causing the attackers to flee.

Police are still on the hunt for the men who attacked Miss Harper.

Now, her mother, Lisa Horler, 43, says she now dreads her daughter going out alone.

You may also want to watch:

She said: "I can't believe they [the attackers] haven't been caught as I would have thought someone would have seen them as it's unusual for two people to be running all dressed in black as they were, especially as it was a warm day.

"I won't let Paige go out unless she is with someone, we have no clue if it was just a random attack or if they were waiting for her and if that's the case then they could easily do it again.

"Why on earth would anyone do this? I just couldn't understand it, she hasn't done anything to anyone and she didn't deserve it.

"When she came home I was totally shocked at the mess of her face, I was really angry, I was shaking even when I was talking to the police on the phone."

Miss Horler said that the attack has changed her view on Thetford and is now extra cautious around groups of people.

The mother of 10 added: "I don't always feel safe especially when there's people hanging around in the street doing nothing."

Police are appealing for witnesses and information about the attack in particular a woman who disturbed the scene.

Anyone with information should contact Norfolk Police on 101 quoting the crime reference number 36/56921/19.
