The East England Military Museum at Barnham, which was founded in 2005, has been closed to the public since November.
But the tourist attraction will reopen on Saturday and Sunday, with organisers promising new exhibits and more artillery on show.
Shaun Hindle, collection manager, said officials had been busy putting together its museum accreditation bid over the winter months, but new additions included a Spitfire and a second world war tank.
He added that a 1940s living history event would be taking place at the venue at Little Heath, Barnham, on Sunday.
The museum site, which celebrates more than 100 years of mechanised warfare, was a former tank training area during the first world war and was later used as a mustard gas factory.
Its gates will be open between 11am and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
