The Iceni Academy in Methwold has been recognised for its work to bring the world into the classroom.
The west Norfolk school has been awarded foundation level of the British Council’s prestigious International School Award.
The award celebrates schools which do extra work in international education by adding a dimension in the curriculum so young people gain cultural understanding and skills.
Iceni Academy’s international work includes a range of trips across a range of subjects and off-timetable days promoting languages over a number of years.
Principal Stephen Plume said “I am delighted that the hard work of our Modern Foreign Languages team in promoting languages in the academy has been recognised with this award from the British Council.”
Stephen Hull, senior project manager at the British Council, praised the school’s “dedication to internationalism”.
