A huge cache of weapons was confiscated this afternoon including knives, saws, tools and a baseball bat filled with nails.

Suffolk Police used their stop and search powers in Bury St Edmunds on a man who was carrying a large bag stuffed with the weapons.

The man caught carrying the items was arrested.

Officers tweeted after the successful confiscation of the weapons: “This image shows the importance of effective #stopandsearch. These weapons have been taken off the street.

“Thanks to @BuryStEdsPolice #Teamwork.”
