Making a difference with Fair Trade
A GROUP of Thetford youngsters learnt the finer art of Fair Trade when they were paid a visit from nearby supermarket staff.
A GROUP of Thetford youngsters learnt the finer art of Fair Trade when they were paid a visit from nearby supermarket staff.
Sainsbury's manager Mike Green and PR ambassador Hayley Mason visited the pupils of Queensway Infant School in a bid to teach them how Fair Trade products can benefit communities across the world.
Many of the children tried various products including grapes, chocolate, tea, bananas and flapjacks.
A colouring competition was also held where the youngsters coloured in Fair Trade pictures and the top 10 won a Fair Trade badge to celebrate their achievement.

A presentation was also delivered, helping the children to understand what Fair Trade is, and where the products come from.
Store manager Mike Green, said: “The fact that buying Fair Trade products can really make a difference to the lives of people living in the developing world is a humbling one and I think we should all make the effort to buy Fair Trade products whenever we can. “Sainsbury's supports Fair Trade opportunity's to share with our local community the importance of Fair Trade and to help our customers understand that buying Fair Trade products needn't make a huge hole in your pocket and can easily become an everyday way of life.”
