Fighter jets from the US Air Force are set to resume night flying above the region's skies later this month.

Officials from RAF Lakenheath are warning that training missions are to resume in the last week of October and continue until the spring. The USAF F-15C Eagles and F-15E Strike Eagles will fly from Monday to Thursday until 11pm.

A spokesman from the base said that the night flying followed a break of several months and was “essential” training for its worldwide operations.
