HARD work and a quiet disposition are the secrets to a long life according to a woman who has celebrated her century birthday.

Joy Anderson celebrated 100 years at Lyndford Hall Hotel in Mundford, near Thetford, with 35 friends and family.

Born in Sevenoaks, Kent, Mrs Feltwell worked in her mother's café in Forest Gate before opening her own sweet shop and tobacconist across the road in Green Street with her late husband Ernie.

After 40 years the couple retired to Feltwell where they joined in delivering meals on wheels in the area.

Mrs Anderson, who celebrated her birthday on April 25, continues to live in her bungalow and is a keen snooker fan.

She has two sons, six-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five nieces, two nephews, eight great nephews, seven great, great, nieces and one great, great, nephew.
