It was one of the biggest moments of Joseph Kingsbury's young life - trotting out on to the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium, alongside Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney.

“He's my favourite player so it was really good,” said the eight-year-old who is now the envy of his Thetford Independent FC team-mates (http://www.freewebs/indiesfc).

Joseph, won the right to be an England football team mascot by entering a prize draw organised by Nationwide as part of their Sponsored by You initiative, posed for photographs with the stars before the England v Czech Republic friendly international football match on Wednesday.

It was a proud moment, too for dad Paul, mum Angela, older brother Daniel and a party of aunts, uncles and grandparents who accompanied the Barnham Primary School pupil on his big day out.

Along with 70,000 other spectators, and millions on TV, Joseph and his family, who live at Nunnery Drive, watched England twice come from behind to earn a draw, the goals coming from Wes Brown and a stoppage time equaliser from Joe Cole.
