A second teenager who died as a result of a tragic road crash on Boxing Day has been named by police.
Jake Paxton was a passenger in a grey Ford Fiesta which was involved in a collision with a black Vauxhall Corsa on the A14 eastbound at Rougham, near Bury St Edmunds, just east of junction 45 at 9.30pm.
He was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge but police confirmed today (Thursday, December 28) that the 18-year-old had died of his injuries.
Earlier this week police also confirmed that William Smedley, another 18-year-old passenger in the Ford Fiesta, had died at the scene of the crash.
A third male - the driver - was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The female driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, a 19-year-old woman, was uninjured.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision. Anyone with any information should call the Suffolk Police Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101 quoting CAD number 332 of 26 December.
