Archant

Residents, businesses and organisations are being asked to help keep Thetford’s Community Fridge stocked.

Launched last month, people and businesses are encouraged to leave surplus food for others to take away for free.

Anyone can help themselves to the food that would otherwise have been wasted.

The fridge is located at the Thetford’s Abbey Community Centre on Abbey Estate and Tesco has donated food.

The scheme is a partnership between Breckland Council and Norfolk Waste Partnership, with the Keystone Development Trust helping in Thetford.

It has been successful in Watton where the local bakery, Tesco and Wayland High school are involved.

The district council will roll-out the community fridge out to all of its market towns.

If you can help supply food to the fridge call Lotti from the Keystone Development Trust on 01842 821643.

If you value what this gives you, please consider supporting our work. Click the link in the yellow box below for details.
