YOUNGSTERS at Charles Burrell High School in Thetford took part in a powerful play written to raise awareness of school violence.

Bang Bang, You're Dead was performed by the school's Thomas Paine sixth form drama group, made up of year 12 and 13 students on the BTEC Vocational Performing Arts Course.

Written by William Mastrosimone in 1999, the inspiration for the play was a shooting the year before at Thurston High School in Springfield, America, where 29 people died.

The cast was made up of Jack Chamberlain, Daniel Verhost, Demi O'Shea, Sam Trayton, Jenny Kerry, Patricia Monarca, Caitlin Stevens, Jayge Wing, David Dalton, Laura Rae and Gemma Sole.
