Fun-filled Hospice dog show a great success

A FAMILY dog show has been hailed a success after dozens of the prettiest pooches and cutest canines filled a Suffolk beauty spot.

St Nicholas Hospice Care's Paws in the Park event saw a host of dog-themed competitions and prizes on offer.

Activities in the main ring ranged from a showcase of the most glamorous pups in the park to a Gorgeous Grandad competition for dogs over the age of eight.

Sue Long, hospice community fundraiser and event organiser, said: “We are delighted with how the Paws in the Park event has gone in the beautiful surroundings of Brandon Country Park.

“It is always set against the most wonderful atmosphere where we see dogs of all shapes and sizes coming together for a fun-filled afternoon.

“We would like to thank everyone who supported this event and helped raise much-needed funds for the Hospice.”

Following on from the success of similar events last year in Brandon and then Hartest, near Bury St Edmunds, Saturday's event continued the success of the family dog show.

Other attractions included the Pawtrait competition, a photographic exhibition showcasing some of the cutest dogs in the local area.

The next Paws in the Park event is planned for Pear Tree Farm, Hartest, on September 12.
