A new defibrillator will be installed in Brandon thanks to the fundraising efforts of a football team.

When Tim Webb suffered a heart attack earlier this year, the Brandon veterans team members decided to fundraise for the life-saving device.

They held a veterans game, which raised more than £300 and were helped by a £400 donation from Thetford-based business Olleco and £100 raised from a raffle held by Warren Services, also of Thetford.

The defibrillator will be housed at Mr G’s Bowling Centre - which also donated £100.

Andrew Goddard, veterans team member, said: “Tim was just suddenly struck down and had a quadruple heart bypass. It just showed us you don’t know what is around the corner.

“It took us all by shock when it happened and we decided to so something and he was on board with it.”

The defibrillator can be used to help both children and adults.
