Boniface Engineering of Thetford seems to be bucking the trend by expanding.
It is one of the UK's leading suppliers of recovery vehicles and part of Miller Industries
Towing Inc, and has just expanded its manufacturing facility with the opening of a new 1,700 sq m finishing shop, parts warehouse and administration centre.
Strong demand for the company's extensive range of recovery vehicles from around
the world has made the major expansion programme necessary.
The new facility, which is located alongside the existing 2,700 sq m premises, provides a space for product finishing and has also allowed the firm
to centralise its 1.5m parts holding .
Additionally, the parts team has been strengthened with the appointment of a co-ordinator tasked with providing customers with an order line six-days-a- week.
Michael Boniface, said: “Despite the recession we have enjoyed strong demand for
our products and it was this consistent high level of activity that made it essential to
expand our manufacturing operation.
“Also, we are very much a global supplier in the recovery
vehicle business and besides
the need to cope with
the existing workload, it was vital to make this significant investment in order to be prepared for future growth in the market.”
