The results of their efforts are now being transferred into giant posters to brighten up the Company's Thetford depot.

The idea came from the Thetford Depot staff, who were keen to improve the foyer area and meeting rooms. Rather than calling in the decorators they decided to launch a competition, inviting children to paint pictures that focused on an active, healthy lifestyle.

The Golden Hind Class from Year One at Raleigh Infant School and Nursery impressed judges with their colourful contributions and imaginative drawings.

Ella, aged five, was the overall winner with her entry of three friends dancing. Runners up pictures included children swimming, playing football and designs of fruit and vegetables.

Ian Dickerson, depot sales manager, said: “Our competition was a good way of allowing the children to use their imagination while still thinking about a healthy lifestyle. We liked Ella's picture particularly because it showed how an active lifestyle can be enjoyed with friends.

“As a company we are very much focused on health and healthy eating and sponsor a range of activities that are all about encouraging people to think about their well-being. This is just another way that we can work with young people and highlight the importance of it.”

The winning designs will be displayed on the depot walls with Ella receiving a framed version of her entry. Raleigh Infant School and Nursery will also receive a £100 cheque for new art materials.
