A force of brave runners made their way through Elveden’s tough terrain to raise thousands for East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).
Close to 1,700 people took part in the Only The Brave mud obstacle course on Sunday at Elveden Estate which has so far raised more than £110,000.
Runners on the six and 10 mile course faced up to 35 obstacles, fighting through heaps of straw bales and plouging through muddy pits.
Nicky Blake, of the EAAA, said she spotted a few superheroes among the crowd, adding: “It went really well, we had a team called Marvelous where one of the participants’ son died in a car accident so they are running this for him all dressed in his favourite Marvel characters.”
The event is in aid of EAAA’s life-saving work, a charity which operates two high-tech helicopters from its Norwich and Cambridge bases every day of the year.
