Staff at Dogs Trust Snetterton are hoping Black Friday will inspire dog lovers to swap shopping for adopting and give one of their overlooked black dogs a new home.

The rehoming centre on North Road currently has five black dogs looking for their forever homes.

All of the dogs have different needs but the one thing they all have in common is that they are looking to reserve their spot on the sofa in the home of a special someone.

Diane McLelland-Taylor, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Snetterton, said: “As people traditionally hit the shops on Black Friday, we’re using it as the perfect opportunity to celebrate the wonderful black dogs in our care and encourage people to adopt not shop.

“These black dogs have sadly been overlooked, but they are all such super characters and really deserve to find a loving new home.”

The lovely pooches who are looking for a home are:

Damson, an eight-year-old rottweiler, who is described by staff as sweet and friendly. She is partially sighted, loves fuss and attention and would prefer to be the only pet in the home.

Labrador cross Hugh is happiest when he’s playing fetch. The four-year-old adores gentle fuss and although he was a worried soul when he first arrived, his confidence has now come on leaps and bounds.

He is happy to share his home with a similar size dog and is looking for an adult family.

Playful and bouncy Shadow is looking for a quiet home where his adopters can be around most of the time.

The five-year-old terrier cross would benefit from further reward-based training to help boost his confidence.

Soft toys and food are the main passions of Moose the two-year-old lurcher. He enjoys relaxing in his bed and afternoon walks.

He can live with teenagers and needs to be the only pet in the home.

Two-year-old Joey the Saluki is a devoted fan of squeaky toys. He likes to alternate between lazing around or playing like a puppy.

He is keen to saok up all the attention and can live with children aged over 10.
