BILL Pertwee, most famed for his portrayal of Warden Hodges in the TV show Dad's Army, will be guest of honour in Thetford this weekend.

BILL Pertwee, most famed for his portrayal of Warden Hodges in the TV show Dad's Army, will be guest of honour in Thetford this weekend.

The actor will be at the Dad's Army Museum on Cage Lane to sign copies of his new book, The Making of a TV legend.

Spokeswoman for the museum Corinne Fulford, said Mr Pertwee had not only mentioned the museum in his book, but also agreed to become patron.

She added: “Bill has always been incredibly supportive of what we have managed to achieve in Thetford and enjoys his trips back to 'Walmington-on-Sea'.

“He is very much looking forward to Saturday's book signing and so are we.”

Mr Pertwee is scheduled to be at the museum on Saturday between 11.30am and 1pm, and 1.30pm and 3pm. No booking is required.
