The card for the next Contenders Norwich is taking shape – and it looks to be a cracker, packed with local talent.

The main event will pit Ylies Djiroun against Adam Boussif for the European lightweight title, which the former won by choking out Jeremy Petley on Contenders 16.

The Frenchman (11-4) has won his last six fights, all by stoppage, including four by guillotine choke.

Boussif (9-5) has mixed it with top flight competition, including Cage Warriors champion Chris Fishgold, who tapped him out at Cage Warriors 77.

Elsewhere on the card Thetford’s Andre Goncalves makes his return to action after suffering his first-ever loss at Contenders 17, while Tom Mearns will fight for the European featherweight title.

Jack and Henry Mezzetti are also in action, as is Kevin Lane, a popular 47-year-old scrapper from Ipswich.

Other local talent on the card includes the teak-tough all-action Paul Gormley, from Unit 1 Gym in Bury, who faces Dan White in a K1 clash.

And Yarmouth’s Jemma Thomas will also be in the cage, tussling with Naomi Harvey.

Contenders promoter Steve Newman said: “There’s a lot of up-and-coming talent and youngsters to watch, plus a fascinating main event.

“Ylies is on a six-fight win streak and he’s hotly-tipped to do big things – Cage Warriors wanted him, everyone did, but we’ve got him. That should be a cracker.”

The event takes place at the Norfolk Showground on February 25. For tickets, visit www.contendersea.com.
