Thetford Grammar School had a day of fun and informative activities to celebrate Chinese New Year.
The school welcomed the London Confucius Institute, a non-profit organisation which aims to promote the Chinese language and the understanding of Chinese culture across the UK.
Years six through to year nine learned martial arts and traditional paper cutting.
While the younger children learned about the traditional Dragon Dance and how to use chopsticks.
“It was great fun to learn about the Chinese New Year” said deputy headteacher Kathrin Elders.
“The whole school got involved and we all learned a great deal about Chinese culture”.
All the school’s pupils and staff also got to enjoy Chinese food for lunch as part of the day’s celebrations.
The Chinese New Year falls at this time of year because it marks the start of the Lunar New Year - when there is the start of a new moon.
