CHILDREN from a Thetford primary school helped a carnival get off to a colourful start.
The pupils of Bishop's Primary School were taking part in the Abbey Carnival event. The carnival was opened by the Mayor of Thetford, Pauline Quadling, and the schoolchildren led the procession in an array of brightly coloured costumes. They dressed up as pirates, sea monsters, caterpillars and animals, among other themes.
The procession was the big highlight of a day of fun activities and entertainment for all ages in the community, and local agencies and charities were given the chance to showcase their services.
