Residents and staff of an elderly care home were evacuated yesterday following a small fire in a stairwell.
Two fire crews from Thetford were called to St Leonards Court, in St Leonards Street, Mundford, just after 10am to put out the blaze.
The care home's 25 residents were relocated to the Crown Hotel for more than an hour. A spokeswoman from the home said the stairwell fire had only caused minor smoke damage and no one was injured.
