Residents, organisations and businesses are being encouraged to help in a charity cleaning event in their town.

Breckland Police officers have organised a litter pick in Thetford and are calling for people to come along, give up their time and help.

The event, on Saturday, is being supported by the town council, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, Breckland Council and Thetford B&Q.

Community groups including the scouts are also offering a hand.

The litter pick will also be raising money for the charity Shelter which helps people across the UK struggling with bad housing or homelessness.

The event will start at 10am at the School Lane Surgery car park.

The litter picking will take place around the town centre and should finish by mid afternoon.

Everyone is welcome, be it one person or a group.
