YOUNG girls are being encouraged to join up for football coaching in Brandon.
The new year's coaching for Brandon Lasses, aged between six and nine-years-old, is now taking place on Fridays between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
The club, which is an FA Charter Standard Development Club and previously won club of the year, has received funding from Sports Unlimited to increase numbers.
Leisure development officer for Anglia Community Leisure, said: “Both the Brandon Lasses and ladies football clubs are doing well but we are keen to boost numbers and introduce girls to the sport as early as possible so this coaching will be the perfect way to start.
“With the world cup taking place this summer, football fever will soon be upon us, and this is a chance for the girls to be ahead of the game.”
