The soaring ambitions of a young air cadet have been given a boost after she attended a rigorously-selected training weekend.
Cadet Sergeant Kathryn Towell, of ATC 1109 (Thetford) Squadron was chosen from more than 300 applicants to be one of 40 attendants at the Qualified Aerospace Instructor Cadet course at RAF Linton-on-Ouse last month.
The course gives cadets aged between 16 and 20 a qualification to operate the latest technology and an insight into working within the aviation industry.
After a weekend of aerodynamic tests, flying and leadership tests, Cdt Sgt Towell said she was looking forward to the seven month course, which culminates with an assessment weekend in 2016.
āIām really excited about the course. This is a fantastic opportunity and will give me a great step forward not only within in the ATC, but for the future as well,ā she said.
