Forum to be launched to bring district’s many thriving business together
A new business forum is being launched to help bring together the small and large businesses across the Breckland district.
The Breckland Business Forum will enable the many different and thriving firms and companies to have a voice and to help support the local economy.
For more than ten years marketing agency The Lively Crew has been delivering similar business forums across the county, attracting on average 70 business people to each meeting.
Set up originally as a communication vehicle between the district councils and local businesses, over the years the forums have gone from strength to strength with authorities and firms working together on subjects which are beneficial to the local economy.
The Thetford and Attleborough Business Forums have supported and pushed on issues including the dualling of the A11 and the Attleborough Neighbourhood Plan.
Valerie Watson Brown, director of The Lively Crew, said: “We are celebrating ten years of running successful local business forums in the county, with Thetford and Attleborough and Snetterton being the first ones set up.
“It is therefore with great pleasure we have launched a Breckland one in this milestone year, following requests from businesses in the Watton, Dereham and Swaffham areas to get involved.”
She added: “Our forums work because our members put their wishes to support the local area first and networking second.
“We attract businesses of all shapes and sizes and with one common goal, to support the local economy with a collective voice for the area.”
The launch will take place at Lynford Hall on Friday, July 6.
Guest speakers include Mid Norfolk MP George Freeman, South West Norfolk MP Liz Truss and the chief executive of the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership Chris Starkie
Ms Truss said: “We have so many fantastic companies across the Breckland District and the networking, sharing of knowledge, ideas and best practice is incredibly useful.
“Experience has shown that when business gets together and speaks out, real change takes place.”
