A wholesalers has raised more than £2,000 for a hospice after a morning of fundraising.
Staff at Palmer and Harvey, of Wimbledon Avenue in Brandon, spent the morning of December 5 raising money for St Nicholas Hospice Care on Market Hill.
A raffle, lucky dip, tombola, and sweets in a jar guessing game saw them rack up £2,040.
Raffle prizes included mountain bikes, luxury hampers and restaurant vouchers.
Glenn Leech, P&H Brandon Distribution Centre Manager said: “The event was very well supported which shows how important the care provided by the hospice is to people in the community.
“We had some fantastic prizes donated not only by P&H and its suppliers but also many local businesses which really made the event a special one.
“I am pleased and proud of how much time and effort the team at P&H put into making the fund raising day as successful as it was.”
The money was handed over to the hospice this week.
Claire Butler, Hospice Major Gifts Manager, said: “For the Palmer and Harvey team to have raised so much at this time of year is a testament not only to how hard they must have worked but also to the generosity of the people of Brandon.
“The Hospice is very grateful for this support, which will help it to make a difference to people facing long-term or life-threatening illnesses and their families.”
