Schools, businesses and organisations spent months growing, nurturing and creating their entries for a popular wheelbarrow event.
And the effort was worth it as 14 teams showed off their masterpieces - with Desert Island Discs as the theme - for Brandon’s third annual Blooming Barrows competition.
The competition, which is part of Brandon in Bloom, had two categories.
The winning entry of the competitor’s vote was Father & Son by Terry Newell and his five-year-old son Jake who created a mini children’s barrow that matched a larger one.
The winner of the public vote was Canndii Sam by Dannii’s Diner which featured a lego rock concert and was in memory of Dannii Foster, who died last year.
Event organiser Rachel Sobiechowski said: “The standard and designs of the wheelbarrows just get better and better every year and it was brilliant to have so many young gardeners taking part this year.”
There was an opportunity for people to sow their own seeds and there was also games and live music from local band Happy Shackles.
Brandon in Bloom are planning another Blooming Barrows competition, with a Harvest Festival theme, which is set to be held later in the year.
