A BIKERS' breakfast will be held in a bid to encourage safer motorcycling.

According to police statistics, motorcyclists make up 26pc of people killed or seriously injured on Norfolk's road, despite only representing one per cent of the traffic.

Now, the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce is encouraging bikers to attend the Encouraging Safe Biking event at Lynford Hall Hotel near Thetford.

The breakfast will include tips on how to ride safely, and be followed by a “ride out route”, with Norfolk police, which will take in nearby dealers.

West Norfolk Chamber of Commerce council member, David Parish, said: “Business Bikers is a fun but very effective networking opportunity with business contacts who share the same passion.”

All road users are welcome at the breakfast which will be held on Friday, April 30 between 7.45pm and 9.30pm.

The cost is 18 plus VAT for chamber members, and 36 plus VAT for non-members.
