Bid to save features on old factory

A fresh appeal was made yesterday to ensure historic features of Thetford's former Burrell engine factory are preserved as the building is converted. Breckland Council's development control committee gave permission in May to Henstead Hall Estates to turn the building in Minstergate into six apartments and four townhouses.

A fresh appeal was made yesterday to ensure historic features of Thetford's former Burrell engine factory are preserved as the building is converted. Breckland Council's development control committee gave permission in May to Henstead Hall Estates to turn the building in Minstergate into six apartments and four townhouses. During Breckland's full council meeting yesterday, Thetford councillor Terry Lamb urged that the old window frames be re-used.
