A school for children with special needs could triple in size to allow 22 more students to become residential.
Currently there are 11 children living at Aurora Eccles School, Quidenham, but plans submitted to Breckland Council hope to build three blocks with en-suite bathrooms for 22 more youngsters to stay.
The independent school has 138 pupils from the age of four through to 20 with residential accommodation offered to those aged eight and up.
The application says that there is a higher demand for residential accommodation and an Ofstead report references that the current accommodation needs significant improvement.
The school is based in the countryside outside of the Quidenham village at the Grade II listed Eccles Hall with a collection of buildings on either side of the access road.
The documents say that the proposed development would serve an educational need and fit in with the characteristics of the current buildings.
