Armed robbers strike in Thetford

Detectives are today hunting armed robbers who stole cash from a security van.

Three men, all wearing dark clothing, and one armed with what appeared to be a handgun, stole a quantity of cash from a security van parked outside the Nationwide Building Society in Thetford last night.

Three men, all wearing dark clothing, and one armed with what appeared to be a handgun, stole a quantity of cash from a security van parked outside the Nationwide Building Society in Thetford last night.

The robbery took place in Riverside Walk at about 6.30pm. They fled the scene on foot, heading towards the magistrates' court and Bury Road.
