Emergency services were called to the Anchor Hotel in Thetford on Wednesday night after a small fire broke out in the bar area of the 18th century building.
Two men, aged between 40 and 60-years-old, were rescued by firefighters at about 6pm and were treated at the scene suffering from minor smoke inhalation.
A Norfolk police spokeswoman said that it was believed that the two men had lit the fire to keep themselves warm and it was not being treated as malicious.
