His family have been at the sharp end of bringing people their daily news for more than a century - and now a Watton newsagent has been recognised as being the best in the country when it comes to giving customers the magazines they want.

His family have been at the sharp end of bringing people their daily news for more than a century - and now a Watton newsagent has been recognised as being the best in the country when it comes to giving customers the magazines they want.

Chris Edwards and the team at Edwards News in High Street are celebrating after being given the title of Magazine Retailer of the Year by the Periodical Publishers Association.

The gong is one of the most prestigious in the industry and recognises excellence in all aspects of magazine selling.

Edwards News began trading in 1865 and Mr Edwards started working in the family business as a paperboy when he was 13.

He said he was delighted to receive the award.

“This is the one to win if you are in the magazine business,” he said.
