A victim spoke of her trauma in court as a 32-year-old man was jailed for offences that included strangling a teenage girl and making indecent images of children.

Mark Wilson, of Gaul Road, March, Cambridgeshire, was jailed for three years at Norwich Crown Court

He was also given restraining orders against his two victims and a sexual harm prevention order.

In Thetford, between September 2016 and the end of 2017, Wilson strangled a teenage girl twice - on one occasion to the point where she lost consciousness and kept passing out.

He also attempted to indecently touch another girl.

After his mobile phone and laptop were seized, analysis revealed that they contained indecent category A, B, and C videos and images.

Wilson admitted to two counts of sexual assault by strangulation, one count of sexual assault, one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image and three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child.

In a statement read to the court, one of his victims described how she remained traumatised by what had happened.

She said that she could not sleep, had become depressed and continued to struggle with the emotional aftermath.

She described Wilson's attitude towards committing sexual offences against young women as “seemingly blasé," adding: “The nightmare of what you did remains fresh in my mind.”
