A cake shop in Thetford has expanded its menu following high demand from customers.

Puddin cakery, in The Shambles, opened its first permanent store on February 10 this year.

Jessica Doe, 27, initially launched the business as a mobile dessert shop during the coronavirus pandemic.

The mother-and-daughter-run cake shop has now launched a new range of savoury items following huge demand from customers for a wider range of products.

Ms Doe said: "It's been a whirlwind six months, it's all a bit crazy.

"I've been seeing what people are asking for and it's going to be exciting to open up our products to people who don't have as much as a sweet tooth."

Puddin will now sell vegetarian and regular sausage rolls, red pesto and cheese twists, and other savoury items with a view to adding sandwiches and toasties to the menu in the coming months.

Ms Doe added: "I've lived here my whole life and it's really nice to be at the heart of the community.

"We have a really good rapport with our customers and we hope the rest of the year goes as well as the start."
