Nineteen long-term unemployed young people in Breckland are to be given a fresh chance to get a job.
There are currently 145 people in the district aged between 18 and 24 who have been out of work for more than a year, and the Breckland Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) has secured �123,500 funding from a Future Jobs Fund to provide 19 new posts.
The �1bn national fund aims to create 150,000 jobs between October 2009 and April 2011
Eight of the jobs will be with an “environmental task force” to help a clean-up project across Breckland, four will be with Peddars Way Housing, one will be at a solicitors' firm in Watton and six will be at Jazzy D's hairdressers in Thetford.
