A NEW St John Ambulance group in Thetford which fought hard to get off the ground at the end of last year is now thriving.
The group faced difficulties from the beginning when it hit a stumbling block in finding a place for the group to meet.
But after searching high and low, and appealing through the Times, Mrs Thompson secured Fulmerston Road Church as a permanent base.
There is now a badger set as well as several cadets, six of which have passed their level one first aid exam, and adult members.
At the Thetford lights switch on at the end of last year the group raised 54 and at a Sainsbury's collection earlier this month raised a further 587.
Anyone interested in joining should contact Mrs Thompson on 01842 764597 or 07940 029510.
