A team of firefighters are swapping the hose for the kettle at a public fund-raising event.
Thetford fire station will open its shutters next Friday for MacMillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning from 9am until 1pm.
The public will be served coffee and homemade cake personally by firefighters at the event, with a raffle and bric-a-brac stall also open.
Christine Cater, organiser, said: “We are incredibly excited to be holding a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event at the fire station this year. It is a really lovely way of raising some money for a good cause and we are hoping that as many people as possible will come down and enjoy something a little bit different while tucking into their treats.”
Georgina Daniels, fund-raising manager for West Norfolk and West Suffolk, said: “We are extremely pleased that the Norfolk Fire and Rescue team have got on board and decided to take part in our biggest fundraising event of the year. It is a great way to bring people together while raising money for those affected by cancer and I hope that everyone who attends has a great time being spoilt by the fire fighters.”
